We round out our program by hiring a well-qualified and trained, professional teaching staff. Our teachers come to us from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds, with one common goal: we give our best each day to the children entrusted to our care.

At Winnford Academy we realize that our staff is the key instrument in the effective creation and delivery of a high quality educational program. We carefully select candidates based on experience, education and training. All staff undergoes a criminal background check, 1st Aid and CPR training, required continuing education, as well as an onsite training program.

Our onsite, full-time curriculum coordinator works hand-in-hand with our teaching staff to facilitate classroom management, curriculum development, and provide support for our teachers.

Our Staff At A Glance

Academy Director - Kristen Allen
B.S.Ed., Bachelor of Science in Education,
M.Ed., Master of Education,
Ed.S., Specialist in Education.

Our director, Kristen Allen, is the mother of three young children, all of whom will be attending the Academy. She not only brings a mother’s deep interest, commitment and care regarding children’s health and well being to our program, she also brings a professional educator’s expertise and experience in designing and administering the developmental curriculum at the Academy.

Kristen’s credentials include a B.S.Ed., Bachelor of Science in Education; a M.Ed., Master of Education; and an Ed.S., Specialist in Education all from the University of Georgia. In addition she is an experienced professional educator whose job experience includes 10 years teaching in Georgia public schools at the kindergarten through fifth grade levels in interrelated special education. During this time Kristen also served as assistant director and director of an elementary after school program. She has taught at a special needs childcare center.

Curriculum Coordinator - Nicky Dickens
B.S.Ed., Bachelor of Science in Education

Working side-by-side with our director, Kristen, will be our Curriculum Coordinator, Nicky Dickens. Nicky brings a unique combination of special warmth and disciplined teaching and care to her work that we believe will help make the Academy’s educational program unique and highly regarded.

Nicky’s professional background includes her studies at the University of Georgia in Health Promotion and Behavior and five years working with the American Cancer Society in the areas of fundraising, patient services and public education.

For the past four years she has been a lead Georgia Pre-k teacher, serving as the team leader of the five pre-k classes at another center. There she assisted in the center’s receiving the NAEYC accreditation as well as the pre-k classes to receive “all exceeds” ratings from Bright from the Start.

Nicky’s thoughtfulness, creativity, joy in teaching and working with children shines in everything she does and we know her talent and professionalism will be a foundation for the Academy.
