Our Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is a comprehensive, scientifically based early childhood curriculum that has been shown to improve cognitive and social/emotional outcomes in young children. It is linked with a valid and reliable assessment instrument.
The Creative Curriculum Development Continuum for Ages 3-5 is designed so teachers can assess a child’s progress and guides program planning. The Creative Curriculum is based on the latest research on how children learn best and has been shown through experimental studies to improve classroom quality and promote the school readiness of preschool children. The Creative Curriculum meets all of the standards put forth for effective early childhood curricula by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Education (NAECS/SDE).
We offer classroom programs based on an individualized approach to the whole child. Children will be placed in the classroom that is best suited for his or her individual stage of development after an assessment is conducted.

We hope to offer the Georgia Pre-K program in the fall of 2007. The Pre-K program is a grant-funded program. We will be applying for multiple classrooms. Please check the website or call for further information in the early spring of 2007.
Our goal is to provide a program that meets each student’s academic and recreational needs, thus reducing parental frustration with having to deal with homework and extracurricular activities during the evening hours.
During this time children will be provided with a snack, given assistance with homework, and participate in structured play.
Winnford Academy is proud to provide optional extra curricular activities that enhance the learning programs.
Activities we plan to offer include Dance and Ballet, Spanish, Art, and PlayBall.
